From 2016 - 18 I spent three Winters in South India, studying Vedanta and working at a small desk with a view of a holy mountain. Tiruvannamalai is a temple town and place of holy pilgrimage and my work there was very much influenced by the reverent devotion to God that I saw all around me every day. Two winters ago, I started working more simply, covering the surfaces with netlike shapes of gold dots. As I continued using gold dots, they became a way to define the relationship between the figure/object and the field of existence.
